Welcome to
the "Team 7 Fighting ALS" Website.
Kevin Heidrich was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig Disease, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), in early 1998. He lost his gallant battle in July of 2005. Kevin and his disease were the catalyst for forming Team 7, a group of people in and around northern Kentucky bound by a love for Kevin and his family, and dedicated to helping find a cure for ALS.
The “Team7” name is derived from Kevin’s past. In almost all sporting events, he donned the number 7. To highlight the team effort needed to support Kevin, his family and ALS research, we have chosen this name. Indeed, the love for Kevin, his wife Jill and their children, manifests itself in nearly 1000 friends, family members and acquaintances that make up Team 7.
The efforts, hopes and prayers of Team 7 members concentrate on finding a cure for ALS. We have two main fundraisers each year to support the Kevin Heidrich/Team 7 Endowment for ALS Patient Services as well as ALS research and awareness. Each May, Team 7 has over 100 runners take part in the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon and over 700 friends attend our Annual Team 7 Dinner/Auction in the Fall.
Team 7 gathers in many ways and at many venues to remember Kevin. Ironically, but not surprisingly, it was his attitude, insight and faith in God that is helping each of us pause and celebrate life. Please browse further and get to know the Heidrichs, Team 7, and the ALS community. Your search will be rewarding.
